I’ve been a play by email (PBEM) RPer for a number of years now, and over the course of my stints in various clubs, I’ve developed a lot of opinions about the successes and failures of individual PBEMs. I’ve learned the hard way as a creator/owner or as a member of a Board of Directors (known, at least in Pern fandom, most often as the BoD). I also know why I have left clubs in the past, and why I either drifted off or sent a letter explaining my reasons.
What I am creating here is a resource for bright-eyed idealists wishing to create their own PBEMs. As a rule, I’m geared more towards fantasy worlds or Pern, a focus on writing, and full-post style, but the idea is that almost anyone will be able to use at least some of my advice.
